On Wednesday 16th October 2024, the Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire, Lady Redmond, attended 2M House to hand deliver the King’s Award Trophy and join our celebration. She was joined by Sir Phil Redmond and Robin Robert LVO, Lieutenancy Officer.
The 2M Group of Companies has been crowned with a King’s Award for Enterprise for our excellence in international trade, marking the second time we have been honoured with this award. The Award programme, is the most distinguished business award in the UK and grants the 2M Group of Companies use of the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem.
Dr Maggie Kessler said “As we celebrate both the tremendous honour of receiving the King’s Award and 20 years of success for the 2M Group, these milestones are a testament to our shared dedication, achievements, and commitment to the future. Together, we look forward to advancing not only our business but also making a lasting impact on the chemical industry and contributing to the growth of the British economy.”
The King’s Award came in recognition of the significant export growth by the 2M Group of Companies and in appreciation of the group’s investment in supporting young people’s access to a career in STEM, in the form of the 2M STEM programme, founded in 2016.
Our commitment to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) initiatives has been central to our mission. Since the launch of the 2M STEM programme in 2016, we have been dedicated to inspiring the next generation of scientists and industry leaders. Through hands-on learning, outreach activities in schools, and our support of early-career development, we are actively contributing to the future of the UK’s scientific and industrial sectors. This focus on STEM not only strengthens the 2M Group but also ensures a skilled and innovative workforce for the industry as a whole.
2M is proud of their collaboration with the Department for Business and Trade, which has been instrumental on our journey to receiving the King’s Award.
